SCIENCE CLUB

Science is a way of thinking much more than it is a body of knowledge - Carl Sagan
 
Science involves a pursuit of knowledge causing general truths as the operations of fundamental laws. It aims to inculcate and improve scientific temper amongst our students, promote scientific thinking and new ideas and enhance scientific awareness.
 
The main objectives of Science Club are:
 
To explore the physical realm of our environment through experiments and establish evidence.
To develop a scientific attitude and a rational outlook towards life.
The goal is to learn Science with fun. Children love Science that allows them to perform hands-on experiments.
Tree plantation drives. 
Some of the activities of the club are preparing models, charts, visits to the National Science Centre, organizing Science exhibitions and organizing inter-house quiz competitions.
 


 
 
ECO-CLUB
 
LET’S  ALL  PLEDGE  TO SAVE  MOTHER EARTH- IT’S THE ONLY ONE WE HAVE!
 
Objectives:  
Sensitizing our young students to environment related issues are the main purpose of the School's Eco Club.    
 
Club Activities:       
 
Organizing campaigns and rallies like 'Say no to Poly Bags', 'Say no to crackers', 'Save Water', 'Save Energy', and 'Green and Clean City'. 
Projects initiated and undertaken for eco friendly surroundings like Rain Water Harvesting. Project and regular maintenance of compost pits and green house in the school premises. 
Participation of students in various intra and inter school events.              
Participation in community activities related to ecology.   




MATHS CLUB
 
Objectives:
The Maths Club has been introduced with the aim of making Mathematics fun for students. It endeavours to help students grasp mathematical concepts better through activities like puzzles, shortcuts in calculations and games.
Club Activities:
 
Participation in Math Olympiads and other competitions.       
Conduct Mathematics quiz.       
Study of various Math based puzzles, software and games.                   
Developing models and aids to facilitate a better grasp of Mathematical concepts.
Literary Club
 
Motto: Beyond the pages – Into a new world
 
  • To enhance the students’ linguistic and writing skills
  • To analyse the fine nuances of various facets of literature.

The Literary club is committed to tap effective communication talent among students; club is poised to enable the talents with cutting edge. To develop and hone the literary skills of the students, the club inspires students to develop a taste for literature and also works in the direction of expanding their horizon of spoken and written language. Its intricate agenda includes a variety of activities aimed at building up the confidence and grooming the talents of students in facing various interpersonal challenges and competitions.

  • Poets Galore- Recitation and analysis of poems written by a favourite poet/poetess

Integrity Club 
 
 
Integrity Club has been conceived to train young minds in the school to develop their commitment towards values.. Through various activities children have internalized ethical values like responsibility, tolerance, honesty etc. and they are made aware of their immense power to make the right choices and bring a tremendous change in the society.
 
Integrity club works in close connection and collaboration with NANMA CLUB which aims at fostering values of social commitment and responsibility.

VANA MAHOTSAVA DAY CELEBRATIONS

As a part of ‘Vana Mahotsava Day’ celebrations, Primary students of Bhavan’s Vidya Mandir, Pathanamthitta conveyed a big message through the social media to love and to take care of plants which are very essential for our survival on this planet.

They set examples by planting a large number of saplings and sharing their happiness by hugging Gulmohar tree which was once planted on the World Environment Day by their senior students. The message conveyed being not only planting is important but taking care of planted sapling is much more important.


READING WEEK (JUNE 19th TO 25th ) OBSERVED

 Reading week (June 19th to 25th ) was observed at Bhavan’s Vidya Mandir, Variyapuram in a vibrant manner. Students presented various programmes in the morning assembly, which included Book review and Recitation of poems by famous poets. Students were made to take a special pledge in connection with the Reading week which was released by the Government of Kerala. The week long celebration concluded with a literary conclave of some of the upcoming poets and musicians of Pathanamthitta District namely Sr. Unnikrishnan Puzhikkad, Sajeev Ikkad and Anu M V Kadamanitta.
Students had the opportunity to interact with the poets and enhance their writing skills.
