Xth National Integration Camp 2019

Participants of the Xth National Integration Camp going to be held from 12th May to 17th May, 2019 at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan Vidyashram, Jaipur, Rajasthan. MBIFL- Mathrubhumi International Festival of Letters

Thiruvananthapuram had geared up for one of the largest and most significant literary festivals in the country. Mathrubhumi International Festival of Letters on Feb 2-4, 2018 had brought together over 100 international and Indian writers, speakers and performers at the Kanakakkunnu Palace. The 3-day Festival of Letters tapped into Kerala's young and new talent, helping the young and the aspiring writers rub shoulders with the masters. Writers and speakers from over 10 countries participated in the event.

The main attractions were high-profile conversations, choreographed reading sessions, augmented reality sessions and impromptu performances, workshops by photojournalist Raghu Rai and an exploration of traditional Kerala cuisine.

Chief Minister Mr. Pinarayi Vijayan inaugurated the festival. Chairman and Managing Director of Mathrubhumi, Mr. M.P. Veerendra Kumar, Thiruvanathapuram Member of Parliament and writer Mr. Shashi Tharoor were among the other dignitaries who attended the festival.

Children from class 8th and 9th of Pathanamthitta Kendra along with the teachers Mrs. Sreelatha V and Mrs. Sindhu Mol, took part in the programme. It was a great opportunity for children to interact with the great writers and poets, breaking the ice between generation.

Mathrubhumi International Festival of Letters (MBIFL) 2019. Students from classes VII to IX got a chance to participate and interact with famous writers, poets, movie stars etc. Asif Zakir (IX), Govind Shibu (IX), Adithyan A (VIII), Shivon K Shibu (VII) and Kalyani (VII) participated in the MBIFL 2019 organized in Trivandrum.

CULTURAL OUTREACH PROGRAMME

Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan – Bhavan’s Vidya Mandir School, Pathanamthitta Kendra in association with Infosys Foundation has taken the first step to revive and resurrect our rich heritage and also to help upcoming folk artistes. The Kendra takes to its credit in organizing three separate programmes in this regard. The first two programmes were performed on 24th Sept, 2016 at Musaliar College Auditorium, PTA. Traditional art forms like Nadanpattu, Pakkanar Kolam and Paranthattom performed by the artistes of Vaimuzhi Folklore Study Centre, Pathanamthitta and semi classical keerthanam presented by Shri. Suresh Govind were widely acclaimed. Another set of traditional art forms like Nadanpattu, Theyyom and Aadivasi dances showcased by the artistes of Nirapolika, Adoor on 01st March, 2017 at Karimpanackal Devi Temple, Pathanamthitta too drew accolades from the audience. The programmes where organized by the school co-ordinator Ms. Shaikh Sabeena under the able guidance of the Principal.  Truly BVM has earned kudos for publicizing our ethnic art forms thus enriching the immortal Indian Culture.

INDIA INTERNATIONAL SCIENCE FEST (IISF) - 2016

Bhavan’s CBSE School, Pathanamathitta is the only Bhavan’s school selected to visit India International Science Fest (IISF 2016) held at the CSIR – NPL, New Delhi under the Ministry of Science and Technology, Ministry of Earth Sciences in association with Vijnana Bharati (VIBHA). All the participants have been nominated under the Pradhan Manthri Sanded Aadarsh Gram Yojana. The students had the opportunity to acquire knowledge about fundamental science, engineering technology and recent innovation at the science village.

The students had the opportunity to enhance their scientific temper by watching a number of science experiments related to Physics and Chemistry. They had chance to interact with eminent scientists and visit National Physical Laboratory (NPL Delhi).

The IISF – 2016 aimed to encourage and develop scientific temper and attitude, promote exchange of knowledge and ideas among young minds including showcasing of recent developments and contributions of India in science and technology, IISF – 2016 encompasses events such as Young  Scientists’ Meet, Mega Science Expo, Scientific Workshops, INSPIRE program, International Science Film Festival, etc. The mega event  also showcased the Government’s flagship programs like ‘Make in India’, ‘Digital India’, ‘Smart Villages’, ‘Namami Gange’ and “Transforming India”. The event attracted more than 10,000 national and international researchers, scientists, academicians, technocrats, students and educationists.

Six students namely Athila Anzari and Athira Sreekumar of class XI, George Thomas Maruthathu and Unnikannan of class X and Abhijith Vinod and Akash Ajikumar of class IX  along with Mrs. Suvarna Sasi, Vice Principal of the school participated in the event.

WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY CELEBRATION 2018

In connection with the World Environment Day students of Bhavan’s Vidya Mandir, Pathanamthitta performed street play at various places of Pathanamthitta District highlighting the consequences of Plastic Pollution. The event was inaugurated by the District Collector Mr. P. B. Nooh, IAS. The programme was appreciated by one and all. It attracted the attention of both electronic and print media. It was initiated by the staff and students of Eco club of the school.

National Integration Camp 2018

The theme of the National Integration Camp 2018 was “Togetherness Despite Differences”. The six day program started with a theme based walk on 01st June 2018. Walk in nearby areas of SL Public School, Amritsar which was followed by March-past of 408 participants from 57 Bhavans schools all over India with their respective schools placards and flags. Shri. Rakesh Saxena Ji, Director, Shikshan Bharati, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Mumbai unfurled the national flag and announced the opening ceremony of 9th National Integration Camp of Bhavan’s Schools. First day afternoon started different workshops related to Punjabi culture. Workshops were organized on Bhangra, atka, Art and Craft, Folk song, Orchestra training and giddha for escort teachers was given by the host school. Every day we had celebration of Indian festivals like deepawali, Janmashtami, ganesh Chathurthi etc. Every day evening regional cultural presentation was given by 11 schools of Bhavans. Our students presented our traditional “Koithu dance”. From the second day onwards we had yoga, chanting slokas, and meditation. Every day we had sessions by great orators Swami Avyayananda Saraswati ji, Chinmaya Mission, Brahmachari Aneesh Chaithanya Ji, Swami Chitpurananda Ji etc. The host school arranged sightseeing of the historical city Amritsar. The Bhavans schools all over India enjoyed the beautiful sights of memorable golden temple, Jallianwala Bagh and Wagha Border and also conducted an exhibition of traditional items belonging to the participating schools. On the 6th day, in the valedictory ceremony organized by the host school, students showed their different performances what they had learnt in NIC camp. Certificates were distributed among the students for their outstanding participation in different activities. The host schools hospitality, arrangements, food were awesome. Teachers and students are very cooperative and talented.

MUMBAI VISIT BY PATHANAMTHITTA STUDENTS & STAFF

 Staff and Students of Bhavan's Vidya Mandir, Pathanamthitta, Kerala had the rare opportunity to visit our Head Office at Mumbai and also to take part in the camp for seven days from Dec 18th to Dec 24th, 2019 at Bhavan’s Nature & Adventure Centre(BNAC), Andheri. The following staffs Mrs. Suvarna Sasi, Vice Principal, Mrs. Bini Varghese, Mrs. Manjulatha T, Mrs. Jessy Anup, Mrs. Archana G and Ms. Meena C G along with 31 students went to BNAC, Mumbai.

We know Educational Field Trips and Camps acts as very important tools in multi dimensional growth of the youngsters.

This Centre being the official partner of the “United Nations Decade on Biodiversity” is also recognized by the Government of India as a Centre of National Eminence has enriched our students with confidence, sharing and team spirit.

The Animal Care Sessions including Nature Trail and rare Medicinal Plant visit has enhanced their love for nature.

The students of class XI along with our Vice Principal Mrs. Suvarna Sasi had a rare opportunity to meet and interact with Dastur Ji, Executive Secretary and Director General at Bhavans Headquarters, Mumbai. When our Hon. Secretary P. I. Sherief Muhammed sir handed over the memento which was presented to our school for our eminent leadership in the Flood Relief work.
